George Jacob

JACOB, George J. George J. Jacob husband of Lois Paradise Jacob of Pine Orchard, Branford, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Yale-New Haven Hospital. Son of George J. and Stephanie Seper Jacob he was born in New Haven on March 6, 1932. Besides his wife, he leaves: two sons, George J. Jacob IV of Gainsville, GA and Thomas L. Jacob and his wife Sharon of Southington; three daughters, Alice Jacob Miller of Branford, Mary Jacob Graybeal and her husband David of Newport News, VA and Roberta Paradise Jacob and her husband Frank Lynch of Delray, FL; a sister, Stephanie Jacob Crowley and her husband John of Titusville, FL; and five grandchildren, Joseph James Miller, Thomas L. Jacob, Jr., Christopher H. Jacob, Megen and Justin Miller. He was a graduate of Hopkins Grammar School, The College of the Holy Cross and Wharton School of Finance. He was an accountant and prior to retirement was the secretary/treasurer of The Hull Brewing Co., New Haven and later was Manager of M.I.S. at Allied Signal, Stratford. He was a Lieutenant in the Pine Orchard Volunteer Fire Department and a Member of San Salvador Council No. 1, Knights of Columbus. George's greatest joy was his family. He and Lois would have celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary on February 4. Funeral from the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road (Rte. 22S at Rte. 80), North Branford, Tuesday at 9:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, Branford at 10. Burial in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 P.M.
