Marie Bayus

BAYUS, MARIE Marie Guarnieri Bayus, 90, formerly of North Haven, CT, died peacefully at home with loved ones by her side in Columbus, GA on January 31, 2013. Mrs. Bayus was born January 24, 1923 in New Haven, CT daughter of the late Pasquale and Josephine Guarnieri. She had lived in Georgia for the last 8 years. Marie attended Commercial High School and furthered her education at New Haven Business School, graduating in 1943. She was an Executive Secretary to a Vice President at Armstrong Rubber before becoming a dedicated wife and mother. She loved music, shopping, cooking, gardening, Mahjong and casino trips with friends. She was loved by everyone who knew her and was one of the longest standing volunteers at Saint Raphael's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frederick, Angelo, Lawrence, Louis, Albert, Salvatore and Anthony Guarnieri and sisters Anna Faiella and Gertrude Stanio. Besides her husband Bohdan (Buddy) of 66 years, Marie leaves her daughter, Barbara Bayus Vanacore and husband Brad, grandson Brett Matthew Vanacore, wife Cynthia and precious great granddaughter Livia Marie, as well as grandson, Bryan Adam Vanacore. Marie also leaves her sisters, Eleanor Rappa of North Branford, CT, Gloria DeLeonardo of Portland, CT and Dolores Rapuano of Tarpon Springs, FL including several loved nieces and nephews. "Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again" (R. Tranmer). A Memorial Mass for Marie will be held 11:30 A.M., Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Saint Barnabas Church, Washington Ave., North Haven, CT. The family request donations may be made in Marie's name to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909
