Milton Platcow

PLATCOW, MILTON Milton Platcow, 90, formerly of Hamden Hills Rd., Hamden, devoted husband, for more than 55 years, to Molly (Shaskin) Platcow, died on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at Golden Hill Health Center in Milford. Born in New Haven, June 5, 1922, he was the son of the late Philip & Molly Platcow. Beloved father of Stuart (Anna) Platcow of Harleysville, PA, Philip (Karen) Platcow of Chestnut Hill, MA. & Reyna (Ernesto) Jose of East Berlin, PA. Cherished grandfather of Jessica & Jim, Alissa, Melanie, Samuel & Michael. He was a WWII, U.S. Army Veteran who served in the European Theater of Operations and was wounded in St. Lo, France shortly after the Normandy Invasion, and was subsequently awarded the Purple Heart. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years until his retirement in 1988. Funeral services at Mishkan Israel Cemetery, Jewell St., New Haven, SUNDAY morning at 10:00 o'clock.
