Thomas Ditta

DITTA, THOMAS Thomas Ditta, 88, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2014. He was the loving and devoted husband of 65 years to Lucrecia (Laura) Torello Ditta. Born in New Haven, son of the late John and Mary Cari Ditta, he was predeceased by his siblings Joseph Ditta and Antoinette Perrotti. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Debi Caron(Gerry) of Hamden, and sons Tom(Vanessa) and Ken of Hamden; as well as 8 grandchildren: Jamie, Brett, Troy and Jeremy Balisciano, Alicia and Ashley Ditta, Melissa Carney and Geoffrey Caron; and 4 great-grandchildren. Tom served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WW II on the U.S.S. St. Louis. Tom retired from Leonard Concrete Pipe after 30 years and enjoyed retirement by spending winters in Florida and summers on the Cape with his family. The Ditta family would like to thank David Pascarelli for the loving and compassionate care that he gave Tom. Calling hours will be TUESDAY from 8:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the Peter H.Torello & Son F.H. 1022 Dixwell Ave. Hamden, followed by an 11 O’clock memorial service at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden.
