Walter Simpson

SIMPSON, WALTER A. Walter A. Simpson, 79, of Branford, died Saturday, November 9, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of the late Jane White Simpson. Mr. Simpson was born August 6, 1934, in New Haven, son of the late Thomas B. and Devina Brown Simpson. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U. S. Army. He worked as a pipe fitter for the VAMC in West Haven for many years until retiring. An avid fisherman, he was a member of the Indian Neck Yacht Club. He also belonged to the Branford Elks Club, American Legion Post 83 and the Moose Lodge in Punta Gorda, FL. He is survived by his daughter, Sinead (Michael) Boccamaiello of Branford; his grandchildren, Amanda, Michael and Maeve, and his great-granddaughter Bianca. He was predeceased by two brothers, David and Ronald Simpson. Friends are invited to a memorial service on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and may call prior to the funeral from 10-11 am.
