John Conlon Jr.

CONLON, JOHN J., JR. (May 4, 1924 - April 25, 2013) John J. Conlon, Ret. Captain NHFD 88, of Hamden died in his home April 25, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Rita East Conlon. He is survived by daughter Ellen O'Donnell and her husband Michael of Oxford and their daughters Caitlin and Brynn, son John J. Conlon III of Hamden, and daughter Mary Patrice Conlon of Guilford and her sons Peter, Maxwell, and Jackson Bonfiglio. He is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his brother Thomas Conlon and sisters Margaret Moran and Mary Glynn. He was born in New Haven on May 4, 1924, son of the late John J., Sr. and Margaret Costello Conlon. John proudly served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired as Captain with the New Haven Fire Department after twenty-seven years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Saint Patrick and the Newhallville, Shelton Ends Association. Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, on Thursday at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM at Saint Rita Church. Burial will take place at All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, May 1 from 5-7PM.
