NEWMAN, ANNETTE SILVERMAN Annette Silverman Newman of Woodbridge, beloved wife of the late Dr. Stanley Newman, died peacefully on Thursday Dec. 29, 2011. Loving mother of Ruth Deborah Newman and Joseph Aaron Newman. Dear sister of Sophia Moskowitz and the late Marcia Cooper. Born in Cleveland, OH, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Bertha (Samseber) Silverman. Annette Newman dedicated over fifty years of her life to teaching. She taught song, dance and Bar Mitzvah Tutorial at Congregation Mishkan Israel in Hamden. She was a substitute teacher, a tutor and mentor for the homebound, and worked full-time in many different public schools throughout greater New Haven. Many years of a long career were committed to teaching English or English as a Second Language in middle schools. She cared deeply about her students and even after retirement happily volunteered to help elementary grade students learn to read. Ann was passionate about travel, gardening and good food. She loved literature, music, theater and art, and was always eager for new experiences. Funeral services in the B'nai Jacob Memorial Park, 200 Wintergreen Ave., New Haven TUESDAY at 12:00 noon. Memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of one's choice. A traditional period of mourning will be observed at the family home in Woodbridge. The Robert E.
