Ivan Michaud Obituary

MICHAUD, IVAN (YVAN) H. In CT Hospice, Branford, Tuesday, November 9, 2010, Ivan (Yvan) H. Michaud of North Branford. Loving husband of Eleanor (Ellie) Michaud. Ivan was born in Quebec City, Canada on Feb. 19, 1941, son of the late Gerard and Annie Jobin Michaud. He was the beloved brother of Gilles Michaud of Quebec, Lise Crispin of Quebec, Nicole (Gaston) Drolet of Quebec, Richard (Yolande) Michaud of Bristol, CT, Normand Michaud of Quebec, Jacques (Nicole) Michaud of Branford, CT, Nelson (Johanne) Michaud of Quebec, Nancy (Robert) Neveu of Quebec, Steven (Enith) Michaud of Branford, CT and Patrick (Odette) Michaud of Quebec. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Rose Taupier of East Haven and her late husband Armand, along with many nieces and nephews. Ivan grew up in Quebec and during his youth he served as a Ship Steward with the Royal Marines stationed in Nova Scotia. In the early 1960's, he moved to the United States to be with some of his brothers. He worked at various construction positions until finding a position at US Steel for 12 years. Ivan later went on to work as a Toolsetter at Sargent Manufacturing in New Haven and retired recently after 25 years. Even after retiring, he remained active by tinkering and fixing things around the house. He was an active communicant of Saint George Church, Guilford and loved to spend time with his wife traveling to St. Martin and Florida. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Friday, Nov. 12 at 10am in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave, North Haven. Friends are invited to call Thur. Nov. 11, from 5-8pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Those wishing to remember Ivan with a memorial gift are asked to make donations to Franciscan Family Apostolate, 303 Church St, # 2, Guilford, CT 06437-2468.
