Andrew Petrahai

PETRAHAI, ANDREW LASZLO Andrew Laszlo Petrahai, age 75 of Milford, passed away peacefully at Milford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born August 7, 1938, in Bridgeport, he was the son the of late Peter and Jenny (Bako) Hair. After attending local schools, Andrew graduated in 1956 from Bullard-Havens Technical school in Bridgeport. He served as union steward for Teamsters Local 1150 before becoming Foreman in the machine shop at Sikorsky Aircraft for many years. After retirement, he became an avid tag sale enthusiast, enjoyed cycling all over Milford, loved photography and derived great pleasure in books. One of his most prized possessions was his library card. When the Milford Library held its dedication for its new building in 1976, he attended the service. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Andrew Petrahai Jr., Laura and her husband James Ematrudo and Nancy Petrahai and her husband Ben Carr, all of Milford. His grandchildren; Amanda (Brian) Farrelly, David R. Ritchie, Kaylee Ritchie and Timothy Dunne. His niece Dale Camara of Harwinton. Friends may call at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford, Wednesday April 2, 5 - 8 pm. A Prayer Service will be held Thursday April 3 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery in Milford.
