BIELA, ANNE V. (BRYZGEL) Anne Veronica Bryzgel Biela, 94, of West Haven, died on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Yale–New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Walter Biela. Anne was born in New Haven on February 19, 1920, a daughter of the late John and Anne Tarka Bryzgel. She had been employed as a pantry worker in the dining hall at Yale University Law School for many years until retiring. Anne was very proud to have been the first generation born to Polish immigrants to live the American dream. She was a dancing instructor with the Polish Falcons Nest 81 and was awarded the Legion of Honor for her years of outstanding service, and was an assistant dance instructor for District 5 of Connecticut. Anne was a member of the St. Stanislaus Mother’s Club, Polish Women’s Social Club and the Allingtown Seniors of West Haven. She is the mother of Paula Pashley (James), Janice Hanlon (James), John Biela (Betty) and Richard Biela (Cheryl). Sister of Jessie Jason and the late Jean Podlisny. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral from the LUPINSKI FUNERAL HOME, INC. 821 State Street, New Haven, on THURSDAY morning at 9:15, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stanislaus Church at 10:00. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Visiting hours will be WEDNESDAY from 4 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Affiliate of , 74 Batterson Park Road, Farmington, CT 06032.
