Blanche Hickey

hickey, blanche Blanche Hickey, age 86, formerly of Milford, beloved wife to the late Charles Mitchel Hickey for 47 happy years, passed away at CT Hospice in Branford on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Born in New Haven on June 22, 1927, she lived in CT for 59 years and belonged to Wepawaug Yacht Club in Milford before moving to Pt. Charlotte, FL where she lived for 25 years. She belonged to the Sportsmen Yacht Club until it folded. Blanche joined the American Legion Aux. unit 0110 in Port Charlotte for 20 years and was also a full member of the Elks Club Post 2763 in Deepcreek, FL for 13 years. She was a dedicated member of the Hope Lutheran Church of Gulf Cove in Port Charlotte where she had many wonderful people whom she loved. She is survived by her five children; Michael Hickey and his wife Kathy of West Haven, James Hickey and his wife Arline of Milford, Jean Budzinski and her husband James of Milford, Anne Cleary Hackley and her husband Tom of West Haven and Robert Hickey and his wife Terry of Clinton who she resided with. Also 11 grandchildren; Michael, Dennis, Brenda and Kevin, James, Debbie and Jennifer, Faith, Valerie, Joseph, Mitchel and 15 great grandchildren and her sister Rita Gloria Lamb of Wallingford. Also her nieces Carol Fitzgerald, Ellen Mitchel; brother-in-law Ronald Forech, cousin Karen Maguire, the Courtermauch family, Shield Wilson and many more loving grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins and all her friends in FL and CT. She was predeceased by her son, Charles. Friends and family may call on Monday, July 29th from 11am to 1pm followed by a Prayer Service at 1 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad ST., Milford, CT 06460.
