BUDEIT, CARL F. Carl Francis Budeit, 93, of North Haven, formerly of New Haven, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 14, 2014. He was the beloved husband of the late Victoria Asmus Budeit. Mr. Budeit was born in New Haven on July 27, 1920, a son of the late Charles Alfred and Idella Carmichael Budeit, and had resided in New Haven for most of his life before moving to North Haven seventeen years ago. He was a boilerman for the former CT Hard Rubber Co. of New Haven for thirty five years, retiring in 1986. He previously worked as a carpenter for the former Blakeslee Construction Co. of New Haven for ten years. Mr. Budeit was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and was a member of the Racoon Club of Durham. He is survived by a daughter, Sandra J. DePaola of North Haven, a son, Mark (Ginny) Budeit, Sr. of Guilford, a very special nephew, Eldrick “Ricky” (Fran) Arsenault of East Haven, a sister, Jean DelGrego of West Haven, a brother, Donald (Lois) Budeit of Atlanta, GA, a sister-in-law, Peggy Budeit of Guilford, five grandchildren, Jennifer (Shannon) Dolan-Auten, Mark (Tiffany) Budeit, Jr., Stacy (Tom) Minnix, Nicole DePaola, and Melissa (Michael) Meehan, and ten great-grandchildren, Thomas, Aijalyn, Alana, Christopher, Katie, Hannah, Taylor Nathan, Jack and Emma. He was predeceased by his son, Carl Francis Budeit, Jr., his son-in-law, Nicholas F. DePaola, Jr. and three brothers, Frederick, Alvin and Roy Budeit. Mr. Budeit’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. His funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Ave. North Haven. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
