Carmine Trotta

Carmine Louis "Speed" Trotta, of North Haven died peacefully at his home June 29, 2013. He is the husband of Catherine Trentini Trotta. Carmine was born in New Haven August 23, 1927 son of the late Nicola and Mary Cacace Trotta and was a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in both the US Army and Navy. He was a supervisor for Hartford Fire Control, and had worked for the New Haven Clock Co. in earlier years. He was an avid NY Yankee and UCONN fan and a member of the Lincoln Club. He is the father of Maria "Ria" Violano and the late Lucy Trotta Mendillo. Father in law of Mark Violano and the late Anthony Mendillo. Brother of the late Louis Trotta. Loving grandfather of Alix, Nicholas, and Matthew Violano. He is also survived by his best friends Ralph DeFrancesco, Dominic Scarano, and his Thursday morning breakfast gang, and his many close friends at his "second home" in Aruba. Carmine's family would like to offer their special thanks to all of his caregivers during his illness, especially Diana and Lisa. His funeral will leave from the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME INC. 11 Wooster Place Wednesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian burial in St. Barnabas Church at 10. Burial with military honors in All Saints Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-8pm.
