Dolores Manacchio

MANACCHIO, DOLORES M. Dolores M. Manacchio, of Branford, died Wednesday at her home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Ralph Manacchio. Dolores was born May 4, 1931, in New Haven, daughter of the late Edith Scroggins Nugent. She worked for 23 years at Honeywell’s until retiring last year. She is survived by her son, Wayne (Marisol) Manacchio of Meriden; her sister Gail (Ralph) Torre of Branford, her brothers, Joseph (Barbara) Nugent of Guilford, and Paul Nugent of North Branford; her grandchildren Wayne (Lee Lee) Manacchio, and Tristan and David Manacchio; her great-grandchild, Hunter James Manacchio; and many nieces and nephews, including her special nephew, Ralph Torre, Jr. She was predeceased by a son, Mark Manacchio and her sisters, Geraldine Ruggerio, Jean Clark, and Veronica Russo, and her brother Kenneth Nugent. Her family would like to thank the staff at Connecticut Hospice Star Wing and the hospice home care staff for the care and concern shown to Dolores during her illness. Also, they would like to give a special thank you to her caregiver, Teresa Saladra, for the care given to Dolores during the past five months of her life. Friends may call Friday evening from 5 – 8 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday morning at 10:00 in St. Mary Church, Branford.
