Donald Burns Obituary

BURNS, DONALD J. Donald J. Burns, a lifelong resident of West Haven, passed away August 8, 2013 at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. Donald was born to the late Donald J. Burns and Anne Telford Burns October 27, 1958. He leaves behind his brother Patrick Burns, sister Pamela Skeens and her husband Christopher all of West Haven. In addition to many aunts and uncles, Donald also leaves six nieces and nephews including Ryan Burns of Guilford, Allyson Skeens Tanner (Jeffrey) of Clinton, Debra Skeens Mattson(John) of West Haven, Christopher Skeens (Michelle) of West Haven,and Diane Skeens Chappell of Wallingford, and 6 great nieces and nephews. Donald worked in excavation and demolition for many years as well as working for a major bus transportation company. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Yale- New Haven Hospital for their extraordinary care and support during this time. Visitation will take place MONDAY from 9 to 10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Lawrence Church at 11 o'clock.
