NAUGHTON, EDWARD R. Edward R. Naughton, age 63, of Madison, formerly of Hamden, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital on May 2, 2014. Born in Norristown, PA on April 2, 1951, to the late Edward J. and Evelyn Carlton Naughton. Ed will be remembered as a wonderful husband by his wife of 32 years, Melissa Ciranni Naughton; his children, Julianne Naughton of New Haven, and E. Joseph Naughton of Madison; his siblings, Eileen Russell and Michael Naughton, both of Phoenixville, PA and several nieces and nephews. Ed was a graduate of Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA. He was a US Navy Veteran of Vietnam. Ed was the farm manager for over 20 years at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station in Hamden. After his retirement there, he worked at Clinton Nursery and was currently employed by Senninger Irrigation Company of Florida. He was a former longtime member and past president of Hamden Rotary Club and a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Holy Name Society. Funeral leaving from BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Monday, May 5th at 9:30 AM for his Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church to be celebrated at 10:00 Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may also visit with Ed’s family on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
