Bottomley, Elneda S. Elneda Stanaland Bottomley, 89, of 23 Norway Road, North Haven died peacefully on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Atria Larson Place, Hamden after a long illness. Elneda was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on March 27, 1923, a daughter of the late Walter and Alice Gore Stanaland. She had resided in North Haven for the past four years. She previously had lived in Orange for thirty years, having moved there from Calabash, NC where she had resided for most of her life. Elneda was a school teacher in the Milford Public School System where she taught for over thirty years, retiring in 1980. She was a proud 1944 graduate of Appalachian State University, Boone, NC. Elneda is survived by two sons, Robert W. Bottomley and Brett (Wynne) Bottomley, both of North Haven, a sister, Vertilee Bennett of Calabash, NC, a brother, Darius Stanaland of Tomasboro, NC, and two grandchildren, Austin and Griffin Bottomley of North Haven. She was precedeased by a sister, Arnette Pritchard, and a brother, Devon Stanaland. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS.
