EDWARDS, EVELYN MOTT DAVIS Evelyn Mott Davis Edwards, 93, of North Palm Beach, FL and Guilford, CT (known to her friends as Mitzi) passed away April 3, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Emil R. Mott and Josephine Graffunder Mott. Mrs. Edwards was a long time resident of the New Haven area and was educated at Hillhouse High School and Green Mountain College in Vermont. Her first husband, Edward J. Davis founded the E. J. Davis Co. in North Haven, CT and operated the company until his death in 1984. She was later married to George Lason Edwards, who predeceased her in 2002. She was also predeceased by her son, Edward J. Davis, Jr., two sisters Marie Mahon, Lillian Denike, and brother Dr. Frederick E. Mott. She is survived by her loving daughter Barbara "Jodie" Davis Godbout and husband Gregory J. Godbout of Madison and Essex CT, and three grandchildren, Gregory J. Godbout, Jr., Farrell Godbout Gilvydis and husband Dr. Darius Gilvydis, and Davis Mott Godbout. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Ballen Isles Country Club of FL, Old Port Yacht Club of FL, New Haven Country Club of CT, Pine Orchard Club of CT, and Sachem's Head Yacht Club of CT. A memorial service will be held at St. George's Church in Guilford, CT on Wednesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
