Frances Fraser Obituary
Fraser, Frances B. With her family by her side, Frances B. Fraser, age 88, of Branford, formerly of West Haven passed away on February 16, 2013. Born in New Haven, daughter of the late William and Bessie Geenty Blakeslee. She is survived by her daughter Deborah (Joseph) Dowling and her son John "Jay" (Anita) Fraser all of Guilford and her grandchildren Joseph, Jr., Adam, Ryan, Tex, Buddy, Freckles and Sammy. She was predeceased by her sister, Edna Epps. Fran received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport and her Master's Degree in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State College. She was employed by the West Haven Board of Education as a school nurse at both Gianotti Middle School and West Haven High School until her retirement in 1994. Fran was a past President of the West Haven Junior Women's Club. Fran loved cooking and baking, but could never resist the temptation to improvise the recipe a bit. She loved to travel and visited Cape Cod, Las Vegas, Monte Carlo, Italy and various islands in the Caribbean. Fran practiced yoga and lived a healthy lifestyle for many, many years. The family would like to recognize and offer tremendous thanks to Dr. Donna Criscenzo for her tremendous knowledge, instruction and support in Mom's last days. Also, we would like to acknowledge all the lovely staff at the Guilford House, including Tiffany, Doris, Maya and Bianca for all their devotion and care. Fran was a smart, beautiful, strong and independent woman and we will miss her dearly. The hours for visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday morning at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Agnes Church, Milford at 11. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
