BAYERS, FRANK E. Frank E. Bayers, 66, of Stamford, passed away peacefully in his home on January 18, 2014. Frank was born in Milford, CT, and lived there for most of his life, graduating from Jonathan Law High School in 1965. He served on a U.S. Navy destroyer for four years before pursuing a career in television and video production. At his retirement in 2005, he was a Director of Communications with Verizon (formerly GTE Corporation), producing and directing corporate media and events, and managing their corporate television facilities in New York City and Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Frank enjoyed music, film, literature, and travel, and was a lifelong maritime enthusiast. He loved sailboat racing/cruising as well as powerboating, and held a USCG/Merchant Marine captain’s license. He served on the Milford Harbor Commission where contributed to the Head of the Harbor project. He was a two-time Commodore of the Milford Yacht Club and member of the Board of Directors. Frank is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Mary Pfeil Bayers, two daughters, Alison Bayers Tighe (husband Dan Tighe) of Milford and Leslie Bayers (husband Rio Cardone) of Lexington Park, Maryland, and a son, Drew Bayers of Los Angeles, California. He also had three grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Tighe and Kai Bayers-Cardone. Surviving siblings are a sister, Heather B. Demet of Milford, brothers Albert F. Bayers of New Milford and Frederick W. Bayers of Wilmington, North Carolina. He was predeceased by a brother, Geoffrey L. Bayers and a sister, Suzanne B. Varga. Friends are invited to join the family at an informal reception celebrating his life, on Sunday, January 26, at 1 p.m. at the Milford Yacht Club, 131 Trumbull Avenue.
