Gary H. Reynolds

REYNOLDS, GARY H. Gary H. Reynolds, 77, of Madison & Clinton, husband of Roberta, the love of his life for 57 yrs., passed away June 13, 2013 in North Port, FL. Gary served in the US Army and was a member of the Elks, various veteran orgs. and a long time member of the North Madison Vol. Fire Dept. He was a fan of NASCAR, Uconn womens basketball and CT SUN, but his favorite pastime was playing the fife in the close knit community of fifing and drumming. He played for several Corps, including in FL, after retirement, but was a longtime member of Lancraft North Haven like his father before him. He was especially proud of his only grandson, Bill, when he joined the tradition at age 5 with a Jr. Corp, even though it was the snare drum. And, at age 12 when he joined Stony Creek Fife and Drum, so did Gary. They marched together for the last 11 yrs. He was so happy last yr. at his grandson's wedding when he and Roberta won the contest for longest marriage. Besides his wife, he leaves his daughter Diane and husband William Mercier, grandson William and wife Laura Mercier, mother-in-law Grace Chambers, and several close friends especially Chuck and Rose whom they spent much time with. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
