George Corbett Obituary

CORBETT, GEORGE JR. George Corbett Jr., of Branford, died on Friday April 4 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of 63 years of the late Eleanor Torelli Corbett. He was the father of Bonnie Corbett (partner Carol Sulik), George Corbett III (Lauren), William Corbett (Jean), and Joan Risner (Roger). He is also survived by his grandchildren Emily and Amanda Risner and Alexandra Corbett. George was born in New Haven on July 12, 1930, a son of George and Julia Bowers Corbett. He was a lifelong Branford resident and a Detective Lieutenant for the Branford Police Department for 31 years. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 at St. Mary Church in Branford. Burial of his urn will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405 or to the Branford Police Benevolent Association, 33 Laurel St. Branford, CT 06405. See online memorial @ www.wsclancy.com

I will remember him as a kind and funny man, spent many a night talking with him on the midnight shift when we came back from an ambulance run. he loved his family and his town..RIP, George.
