George Swift Obituary

SWIFT, GEORGE A. George A. Swift, 100, formerly of Swift Street in Branford, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at St. Joseph's Living Center in Windham. He was the husband of the late Mary Reiner Swift. Mr. Swift was born in Branford August 19, 1912, son of the late George W. and Lillian Mathers Swift. He was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked for many years as a mechanic for the Howard Company in West Haven, and after retiring from there he worked at the former First Federal Bank in Branford. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Branford. He is survived by his daughter, Sally (William) Clark of Windham; his grandchildren, Kelly Aston and Ryan Clark, and his great-granddaughter, Mariah Aston. He was predeceased by his sisters and a brother. Relatives and friends may call Monday morning from 10-11, with a funeral service at 11 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com
