CLOUSE, HARRY B., JR. Harry B. Clouse, Jr., 79, of Cheshire, was called home to be with the Lord after a brief illness on Sunday, March 17, 2013, with his loving family by his side. Harry was the beloved husband of Irene E. (Landa) Clouse. He was born on April 26, 1933 in New Haven, son of the late Harry B. and Jean Schipper Clouse. Harry was a resident of Hamden, CT, for 45 years, before moving to Cheshire. Harry served as a member of the National Guard early in his life and was a graduate of The Boardman Trade School, New Haven. Harry worked for Yale University for 43 Years retiring as a Power Plant Engineer. After retiring, Harry spent a great deal of his newly found free time assisting in the construction of the children's playground at Bassett Park in Hamden, CT. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Thomas Becket Church. In addition to his wife, Irene to whom he was married 55 years, he is also survived by his three loving daughters, Catherine Stern, Elizabeth Cusano (Louis) and Karolyn DeGrand (Robert). Harry was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Jean Clouse. Harry was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren: Jonathan Stern (Kristi), Matt DeGrand (Sara), Caitlin DeGrand, Alexandra and Tyler Cusano. Harry is also survived by his sisters Eleanor Johnson (John) of N. Guilford, and Helen Way of Guilford, and his brother Edward Clouse (Betty) of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Harry was predeceased by a brother John Clouse (Barbara) of Florida. Harry enjoyed traveling, boating and fishing, antique car shows, attending all the various activities at Southwick in Cheshire, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.The family would like to thank the doctors and the staff of Yale (St. Raphael's Campus) for their compassionate and wonderful care Harry received. His family will receive family and friends from 9-10:30 am on Thursday at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, prior to his funeral mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 am in St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire.
