COLEMAN, JOHN John Coleman, 69, entered into eternal rest in Lawton, OK after suffering from a brief illness on Oct 1, 2013. He was born in Society Hill, SC, on Oct 8, 1943 to the late John A and Viola McQueen Coleman. He worked for CT Transit as a Bus Driver for many years before his retirement. John leaves to cherish his memories, son, John M Elliott (Tamara) of Greensboro, NC, 3 grandchildren, Ryan Elliott of Greensboro, NC, John Lewis Elliott of Tuskegee Univ, AL, Johnna Elliott of Tampa, FL, a loving sister, Catherine Coleman of West Haven, CT, 2 step-daughters, Roni and Rosalyn Elliott of New Haven, CT, 1 niece, 1 nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. A ceremony of celebration of his life will be held on Sat, Oct 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at New Bethlehem Baptist Church, 70 Orchard St, New Haven, CT. Calling hours at 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment on Tues, Oct 15, 2013 in CT State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT. SERVICES OF COMFORT ENTRUSTED TO McClam Funeral Home, 95 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511.
