IOVENE, JOHN J., SR. John J. Iovene, Sr. of Quinnipiac Ave., North Haven died July 9, 2013 in Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of the late Carmela A. Somma Iovene. John was born in December 15, 1925, son of the late Andrew and Rosa Console Iovene. He was the Assistant Division Chief for the Department of Motor Vehicles. He is the father of John (Carol), and Richard Iovene. Brother of Mary Imperati, and the late Anthony, Peter, and Louis Iovene. Grandfather of Brittany Lyn and Anthony Iovene and Michael Calcagni. His funeral will leave from the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME INC., 11 Wooster Place, Friday morning at 10:30. Mass of Christian burial in St. Michael's Church at 11. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Friday from 9-10:30am. Sign John's guest book online at www.iovanne.com

We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Iovene. He was one of the first people I met when I can to this country and he took our first photos, I cherish them all as well as the wonderful memories of a terrific man.
