Kathleen Bradley Obituary

BRADLEY, KATHLEEN BISHOP In Madison House Health Care, Saturday, August 3, 2013, Kathleen Bishop Bradley, 93, formerly of Guilford, CT. Wife of the late Francis H. Bradley. Loving mother of Craig F. Bradley of Guilford, Lanny C. Bradley of Clinton and Alan C. Bradley of Madison. Born on August 21, 1919 in Guilford, CT, daughter of the late Elisha Chapman and Annie Frobisher Wildman Bishop. Also survived by three grandchildren, Brett, Stefanie and Alicia; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Cayden, and Chaeson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings, Frederick Bishop, Roger Bishop, Ann Beckwith and Nancy Fritz. She was descended from Jonathan Bishop, one of the main founders of Guilford in 1639; and also descended from John Alden and Priscilla Mullens, who voyaged to America on the Mayflower. Her mother was born in Guilford in the historic Hyland House during the blizzard of 1888, and the doctor attending the birth had to snowshoe into a second-floor window. Mrs. Bradley worked for many local businesses over the years, including the VNA, and Eric Anderson Surveying before retiring. She was an active member of the Christ Episcopal Church ECW, frequently participating in their bake sales and rummage sales. She also loved hiking in the West Woods and other trails, and over the years was a member of many informal hiking groups. Graveside Services will be private at the convenience of the family, in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston St, Guilford, CT. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Bradley may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park St, Guilford or the Guilford Land Conservation Trust, PO Box 200, Guilford, CT 06437.
