Kathleen Kras Obituary

KRAS, KATHLEEN Kathleen Kras, 59, of East Haven passed away December 5, 2013. She was born on November 24, 1954 in New Haven to Richard and Rita (Kelly) St. Jacques. Kathy is survived by her mother Rita, husband of 37 years, John Kras and their three daughters; Nicole Kras and her husband Larry Page of Northford, Jennifer and her husband George Keenan of Chelmsford, MA, Lauren Kras of East Haven, and a sister, Linda St. Jacques-Rogers and her husband Warren Rogers of East Haddam. Kathy attended East Haven High School, where she met her husband before attending Stone Business School in New Haven. She was a longtime employee of the East Haven Public Schools as a secretary at D.C. Moore, where she treasured her friendships with the many staff and students. Family was Kathy’s passion and joy. She would often spend summers surrounded by them in her backyard planting in the garden, swimming in the pool, and basking in the sun. She was an avid Yankee and UCONN basketball fan. Kathy was an angel long before she left this earth. She was known to have a big heart and was often the listening ear to anyone who needed it. Her contagious smile, never-ending patience, and dedication to those close to her are values she instilled in her children. Family will receive friends from 1-4 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Monday, December 9, at 9:40 am for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven. Committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Jude Research Hospital (tribute number 34703641), in memory of Kathleen Kras.
