Lawrence Fitzgerald Obituary

FITZGERALD, LAWRENCE A. Lawrence A. Fitzgerald, 92, of East Haven, passed away April 10, 2014, in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was the beloved husband of Susie Masserelli. Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was born in West Hartford on Sept. 6, 1921. He was a machinist for Winchester Repeating Arms Co. for 41 years prior to his retirement. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific War Theater. He was an avid Yankees fan. Besides his wife, he leaves several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Rogers and Ralph Burton, and a sister, Ann Burton Bango. His family would like to acknowledge the care given to Mr. Fitzgerald by the staff at Talmadge Park in East Haven as well as CT Hospice in Branford. Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight), New Haven, Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent dePaul’s Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven, Tuesday morning at 10:00. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405; or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38105-9956. www.celentanofuneralhome.com
