Lois Levitin Obituary
LEVITIN, LOIS GOLDBERG Lois Goldberg Levitin passed away on April 4, 2014, at age 93. She leaves behind a legacy of love and caring for her husband of 59 years, Harry Levitin (deceased); for her children, Marjorie (deceased) and Michael Wilder and Alan Levitin; and for her loving and devoted grandchildren, Kathryn and Michael Guarini, and Amanda and Camille Wilder. She also cherished her great-grandchildren, Emma, Matthew and Tyler Guarini, and Elan Wilder. Lois also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Selma Swirsky, and numerous and loving nieces and nephews. Lois graduated from Stone Business College. She worked for many years alongside her husband at Camp Chippewa in Enfield, New Hampshire. She also worked in the admissions office of Yale University, Office of Professional Services. Lois grew up in New Haven, Connecticut, daughter of the late Anna Wasserman Goldberg and George Goldberg, and married and raised her children there. In 1985 she and Harry moved to Heritage Village in Southbury. After Harry’s death, Lois lived at The Gables in Farmington and since 2012 at the Hebrew Home in West Hartford. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 6 at 11:30 a.m. at the B’nai Jacob Memorial Park on Wintergreen Avenue in New Haven, CT, with a luncheon following. Contributions may be made to the Harry Levitin Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund at Southern Connecticut State University, 501 Crescent Street, New Haven, CT 06515.
