Mary Tierney Hunt

HUNT, MARY TIERNEY Mary Tierney Hunt, age 103, passed away peacefully at Bride Brook Health in Niantic, CT on December 16, 2012. She was the wife of the late Maskell W. Hunt which whom they owned and directed Buff Ledge Camp in Milton, VT, for more than 25 years. A long time resident of Hamden, as well as Sarasota, FL, and Williston, VT, she was born in New Haven on December 13, 1909 to the late Edward and Margaret Tierney. She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Tierney of New Haven, Matthew Tierney and Jane Schmidt of East Haven, and Margaret Grimm and Grace Keefe of Hamden. She is survived by her sons, Maskell W. Hunt of Hamden and Reuben Collyer Hunt of Montville, CT, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial mass in her honor will be celebrated on Saturday, June 29, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hamden at 10 am.
