Morton Silberstein Obituary

SILBERSTEIN, MORTON STANLEY Morton Stanley Silberstein, 88, of Madison, Ct., died on July 12, 2013, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Estelle Keller Silberstein. Morton was born in Baltimore, Md., on Oct. 24, 1924, son of the late Eli and Dorothy Sugar Silberstein. Morton received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and received his Doctor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Morton is survived by his wife and their six children: Kenneth Silberstein and wife Kristi of York, Pa.; Diane Hinson and husband Charles, of McLean, Va; Lisa Silberstein and husband Michael Barrios, of Madison, Ct.; Susan Anderson, of Guilford, Ct.; Ellen Buller and husband David, of Madison, Ct.; and Cheryl Anderson and husband Robert, of Madison, Ct. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren: Rachel Silberstein and Jordan Smith; Robin and Noah Hinson; Emily and Chelsey Barrios; Daniel and Melissa Lyons, and Jenna and Shane Anderson; Dylan, Jessica, and Allison Buller; and Nicholas Anderson. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Silberstein. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Maggie Silberstein, of Silver Springs, Md. Funeral services are being held at 2:00pm (Today) on July 14, 2013, at Temple Beth Tikvah, Madison, Ct. In lieu of flowers, contributions will be appreciated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the American Heart Association.
