BARRETT, PAUL J. Paul Joseph Barrett, 67, of Brockton, MA, formerly of Madison, CT, passed suddenly on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Paul was born on January 5, 1947 in New Haven to Helen (Farrell) Barrett of Branford and the late John V. Barrett. Paul was the beloved husband of the late MaryAnne Kirby Barrett and is survived by his mother, Helen Farrell Barrett, of Branford, his two children, Christopher Barrett and his wife Laurel of Wethersfield, CT and Kimberly (Barrett) Derksen and her husband Todd, of Norton, MA. He is also survived by 4 treasured grandchildren, Victoria, Tyler, Kyle and Ellie; a brother, James Barrett and his wife Patricia, of North Branford and two sisters, Nancy Barrett and Susan Barrett of Homestead, FL along with several nieces and nephews. Paul was very proud to have served in the Army National Guard for 18 years and remained active in the Army National Guard, Battery C his entire life. Paul had been a member of the Jaycees while in Madison, and loved gardening, home projects, woodworking and spending time with those he loved. Paul worked as an electrician for most of his life and recently retired from Crocker Electric, Quincy, MA after 14 years. The funeral will be from the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford (Rte. 22 So at Rte. 80) on Friday at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
