D’ANGELO, ROBERT V., SR. Robert V. D’Angelo, Sr., age 90, a lifelong resident of New Haven and husband of 62 years of Mary Early D’Angelo, died suddenly on Wednesday. Mr. D’Angelo was the son of the late Frank D’Angelo and Regina Petrosemelo D’Angelo. He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Texas, and later, of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Mr. D’Angelo spent his entire career in banking, retiring as Senior Vice President of Bank of America. He was a member of the Board of Finance for the City of New Haven for many years, and an officer of the Amity Club. He was a Eucharistic minister at St. Aedan Church. A Navy veteran, he served in the Pacific in World War II. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert, and his wife, Joanne, of Woodbridge, and his son, James, and his wife, Ayumi, of Japan. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Robert, John, Laura, and Leo D’Angelo, and his sister, Norma Fezza. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Aedan Church, 112 Fountain Street in New Haven. Friends are asked to go directly to the church. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
