DEMATTEO, ROBERT W. “BOB” Robert W. “Bob” DeMatteo, 80, of East Haven, beloved husband of Eunice Hill DeMatteo, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on April 12, 2014, in YNHH St. Raphael Campus. Loving father of Lisa (Philip) Brudz of North Haven and Traci (John DePoto) DeMatteo of East Haven. Grandfather of Diane (Thomas Malley) King, Victoria and Alexandra Brudz and Jessica Shultis. Brother of the late Anthony “Mitch” DeMatteo. Bob was born in New Haven on December 8, 1933, son of the late Stephen and Carmela Gargano DeMatteo. Prior to his retirement, Bob was a route salesman for Frito-Lay Inc. Bob was also a backstage security guard for the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and security guard for the Pilot Pen. He also was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball fan, a fan of the Manchester United Football Club, and an Army veteran. The family would like to thank Avantus Shoreline Dialysis and the Staff at YNHH St. Raphael Campus for the special care shown to Bob. Relatives and friends are invited to a Parlor Service in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, WEDNESDAY at 7:30 pm. Interment will be private.
