NUGENT, ROBERT F. Robert Frederick Nugent passed away August 4, 2013 in his North Haven home. He was predeceased by Sarah Frances Cosgrove Nugent, beloved wife of 58 years. Born in Hartford on January 26, 1926, son of the late Frederick T. and Helyn C. Waldron Munsill. Served in the U.S. Navy Amphibious Forces; on LST 586 and USS Ruddy; participated in Atomic Bomb test at Bikini Atoll. Earned five battle stars and Presidential Unit Citation. Life member of VFW, US LST Assoc. and LST & Landing Craft Assoc. of UK. Retired member of the Teamsters Local #443. Survived by sons Steven J. (Adrienne) Nugent of North Haven; Daniel R. (Marylyn) Nugent of Delmar, NY; Peter F. (Elizabeth) Nugent of Salem, MA, and five grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother Richard Alan Nugent and step-father Frank P. Smith. Private funeral services have been entrusted to the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. There will be no visiting hours. Interment with full military honors will be private in All Saints Cemetery.
