GEMSKE, ROBERTA In East Haven, Monday, March 24, 2014, Roberta Gemske, 85, of Guilford. Beloved wife of William Gemske. Born in New Haven on August 31, 1928, daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Bristol) Scussell, Sr. Loving mother of William F. Gemske Jr. and his wife Laura of Waterbury, Robert J. Gemske and his wife Carol of West Hartford, John P. Gemske and his wife Susan of Lancaster, PA. Also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sister of Robert Scussell, Jr. and his wife Carol of East Haven and Edythe S. Meronek of Guilford. Roberta was a graduate of Guilford High School. Throughout her career, she worked as an administrative assistant at the Shoreline Times and Shoreline Printing. She will always be remembered for working full time and keeping a meticulous home, while raising her family at the same time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Friday, March 28 at 10 am. Burial will follow in Nut Plains Cemetery, Nut Plains Rd, Guilford. Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 27 from 5 to 7 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.
