Ronald Fouke Obituary
FOUKE, RONALD LEE Ronald Lee Fouke of Killingworth, CT passed unexpectedly on Thursday, March 27, 2014. Ron was born in Hagerstown, MD on December 23, 1945. He was predeceased by his parents, Constance Gruber Fouke and C. Russell Fouke, Jr.; and a brother, Randall Fouke. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Obel Fouke of Killingworth, CT; his daughter and grandson, Tracy Fouke Bausum and Dylan Bausum of Colchester, CT; and a son and daughter-in-law, Chad Fouke and Lesley Harte of Narragansett, RI. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Fouke of Arlington, VA; an uncle and aunt, Robert and Betty Ann Gruber Kershner of Yulee, FL; and several cousins. Ron enlisted in the Navy right out of high school, served on the nuclear submarine “USS Tinosa” and became an officer on the destroyer “Luce DLG7.“ He marched with the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps as a snare drummer for many years. Ron worked at Echlin Manufacturing Automotive Control Corporation in Branford, CT in Engineering and Management for 24 years. Most recently he enjoyed working as a substitute teacher in the Clinton Public School System. Ron will be remembered for being a well-respected leader and teacher. He enjoyed family camping trips, the Yankees and watching sports on TV with a very special bear. Those who know and love him can take comfort in knowing that God has welcomed home a wonderful and witty angel. A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
