Stanley Wozniak Obituary

WOZNIAK, STANLEY M. Stanley Michael Wozniak, 86, of Sea Hill Road, North Branford passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Saturday morning March 19, 2011. He was the husband of Ryta Puchalski Boughton Wozniak. Stanley was born in New Haven on June 23, 1924 a son of the late Joseph and Mary Wozniak. Stanley served his country proudly with the Army Fifth Armor Division during World War II. He served as one of General Patton's Ghosts. After the war he joined his father working in their family business Wozniak Meat Products on Grand Avenue in New Haven which he owned and operated for more than 50 years. Stanley was a member of the American Legion Frank J. Stempick Post 162 and a member of the V.F.W. 7666 in Guilford. An avid bowler he bowled for years with the St. Stanislaus Holy Name Society and the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America. Besides his wife Ryta he leaves his son William Wozniak of Wallingford and his Step-sons John, Warren and Michael Boughton all of East Haven. He is the brother of Pauline Hawley of West Haven and Josephine Opuszynski of Derby and the late Sister Ladislaus and Rose Sampson, John, Frank and Edward Wozniak. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A special niece Sophia Sampson and several other nieces and nephews. Stanley's family would like to thank the Staff of Vitas Innovative Hospice Car for the kindness and compassion shown them during Stanley's illness. His funeral will leave the LUPINSKI FUNERAL HOME 821 State Street New Haven on TUESDAY morning at 9:15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stanislaus Church New Haven at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 9 Eld Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Iwas deeply saddend to read about Stans
passing.What started as a business relationship over 40 years ago developed into a wonderful one of a kind friendship the kind of which I will never forgetNo doubt God has given him the title"KIELBASI KING OF HEAVEN FOR ALL ETERNITY"hes probably hanging out with such polka greats as Ray Henry gene Wisniewski,Joe Rock,Frank Wojnarowski.
Ive lost a good friend but more importantly,Rita youve lost a true gem
of a man.May God grant him eternal peace and happiness.

My sincere condolences to you. Unce Stash was a good man. My memories of him when he lived up the street from us on Dorie Drive were all funny memories. I wish I could be there in person to share my sympathies with you. Love to all of you!
