JUHASZ, STEPHEN G., JR Stephen George Juhasz Jr., 81, of Guilford, died March 25, 2014, at Connecticut Hospice, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Haven, April 21, 1932, son of the late Stephen and Julia Barbash Juhasz, Mr. Juhasz graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1950 and served his country in the United States Navy. He served as a Machinist Mate First Class in the Mediterranean and was based out of New London, CT until honorably discharged in 1955. After his service in the U.S. Navy, he moved to North Branford in 1955. He was a volunteer fireman with North Branford Fire Company #1 for several years until he moved to Guilford. He was employed at the former Detroit Steel Co. of Hamden until his retirement. During his retirement years he was a member of the Guilford Senior Center and enjoyed gardening, boating, and his love of automobiles. Mr. Juhasz is survived by two sons, Stephen G. Mr. Juhasz is also survived by his sister, June Miller of Greenville, VA; and his former spouse, Nettie Lees Gowac of Madison. The family wishes to acknowledge Sue Daniels, RN, of Connecticut Hospice, Branford; and his home health caretaker, Janet Ofori, who tended to his needs in his final days. Special mention to his son Dennis Juhasz and his daughter-in-law Deanna Juhasz and sons, who, through their care and concern, allowed him to remain in his home almost to the end. Calling hours will be at the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford, Friday, March 28, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday morning at 10:00.
