Theresa P. (Salemme) Volpe Obituary
VOLPE, THERESA P. Theresa P. (Salemme) Volpe, 86, of Branford, the beloved wife of Ralph A. Volpe, Jr. passed away Wednesday (February 20, 2013) at Yale New Haven Hospital- Saint Raphael Campus. She was born September 10, 1926 in Derby, CT, the daughter of the late Alexander and Angelina Salemme. She lived many of her adult years with her family in Hamden and moved to Branford in 2000. Ralph and Theresa shared 64 years of marriage and were the epitome of soul mates whose deep devotion to each other has been an inspiration to all who knew them. Her greatest joys came from her life with Ralph and their three children, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She loved cooking for her family, her many winters in Florida with Ralph, enjoying the water at Stony Creek and reading. She was warm, caring and nurturing and those who met her loved her immediately. She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph, their beloved children, Linda Dubois (Kermit), of Sudbury, MA, Dennis R. Volpe of Branford and Ralph A. Volpe, III (Maria) of North Haven. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Tara Keating (Kevin) of Branford, CT, Kristin Lentini (Bryan) of Cheshire, CT, Dennis R. Volpe, Jr. (Alexia) of Weymouth, MA, Melissa Vanasse (Ryan) of Hamden, CT, Jennifer Dubois, of Sudbury, MA and Amanda Volpe of Hamden, CT. She was also blessed to have experienced the joys of her great grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler and Andrew Lentini, Tessa and Ellie Keating and Nathan Vanasse. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Franco, by her brothers, Michael, Louis and Alexander Salemme and her daughter in law, Janis (Ferriola) Volpe. Her funeral procession will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford Saturday morning at 11:00 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese Church, Branford, at 11:30. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum, North Haven. Friends may call prior to the funeral from 9 - 11 am.
