Victoria Cappello Obituary

CAPPELLO, VICTORIA N. Victoria Negretti Cappello, 94, of 114 Oxbow Lane, Northford, formerly of Leonard Road, Hamden died peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Elim Park Baptist Home, Cheshire. She was the beloved wife of forty years to the late Angelo Cappello. Victoria was born in New Haven on June 11, 1919, a daughter of the late Albert Negretti and the late Louise Tozzo Negretti D'Agostino, and had resided in New Haven for thirty five years before moving to Hamden where she lived for most of her life. Victoria was a seamstress for many years, and worked at several area dress shops. She later worked at CVS of Hamden for ten years as a clerk. Victoria was a member of the Hamden Women's Club and the Columbietttes. She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa (Dennis Wilson) Cappello of Northford, one sister, Pauline Madonna, and a brother in law, John Cappello of Hamden, a niece, Pamela (Rudi) Siela of Huntertown, IN, and two nephews, Frank (Annemarie) Madonna of Hamden and Philip (Karen) Madonna, Jr. of Wallingford. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Charles D'Agostino. Victoria's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Friday at 10:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Monica Church, 1331 Middletown Ave., Northford. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
