Yvonne Olenick Obituary

olenick, Yvonne Marie Yvonne M. Olenick, 77, of Middletown beloved wife of Robert Olenick, died Tuesday, April 9 at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Johnson City, NY the daughter of the late John and Mary (DeKochek) Kasprowitz. Prior to her retirement Yvonne worked as a CNA. She was a founding member of MARC Community Resources in 1955. Held office as President for seven years and a board member for five plus years. Yvonne devoted much of her life to the care of people with special needs. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid of Third Congregational Church. Besides her husband of nearly 59 years Yvonne is survived by daughters Ann Marie of Portland, Carole Burr (husband Bud) of East Haven, Kathryn of Middletown, Patricia of Middletown, son Alan (Denise Madera) of West Haven. Two sisters, Juanita Atwood of Florida, Johanna Tower of New York, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Olenick, two brothers, Joseph and John Kasprowitz, a sister Delores Moshulski. Yvonne's family would like to thank the staff at Middlesex Hospice and Yale's Interventional Radiology Staff and Middlesex Cancer Center for all their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 27th at 11 a.m. at Third Congregational Church, Miner Street, Middletown. Reception to follow. Private burial will be held at Durham Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers send memorial contributions to MARC: Community Resources Recreation, 124 Washington Street, Middletown, CT 06457 and consider donating a pint of blood.
