Purpora, Anthony J. Anthony J. Purpora, age 87, of Orange passed away on April 12, 2013. Born in New Haven son of the late Frank and Alice Ardito Purpora. He is survived by his daughter Debra Purpora of Orange, his son Rick Purpora (Wendy Bowes) of East Haven, his sister Marie Wilson of West Haven, and his grandchildren Barbara, R. J. and Matt Purpora. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Maurice Purpora. Anthony served his country in the Army during WWII, where he received a Purple Heart. He worked for 18 years as a clerk with the US Postal Service and 21 years for Blakeslee Construction. He loved music and loved to dance. Anthony could always be found on the dance floor, from the first note to the last at either the West Haven Beach, Chowder Pot, any town green or any club, that was playing live music. The hour for visitation will be MONDAY from 4-8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:15 for a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Infant Church at 10am.
