Dolores Cerrotti Obituary
Cerrotti, Dolores (Dolly) A. Dolores (Dolly) A. Cerrotti, age 81, passed away peacefully at Connecticut Hospice on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Dolores was born in New Haven on May 01, 1931 to the late Anthony and Elena Nitti Cerrotti. She was a lifelong resident of New Haven. She was a graduate of James Hillhouse High School and Stone School of Business. She worked for 6 years for Baker-Goodyear Company and for 34 years at the Union Trust Company in New Haven as an Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of the Commercial Mortgage Department. Dolores was very interested in Egyptian and English Art and was an artist herself. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed writing short stories. Her hobbies were floral arranging, gardening, opera, musicals, and classic movies. Dolores supported Public Television and organizations that provide guide dogs to the blind. She loved dogs, especially German Shepherds like her own dogs, Heidi and Lady. She is survived by her loving sister, Yolanda D. Mazzola. Dolores was the devoted aunt of nieces Susan (Paul) Wehner and Donna (Pasquale) Guido and nephew Lawrence (Catherine) Mazzola. She was the loving great aunt of Anthony (Brianna) Guido, Andrea Guido, Caitlin Mazzola, Meghan Mazzola, and Michael Mazzola. She is also survived by her aunt, Helen Shair and several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn A. Cerrotti in January of this year. A Funeral service will be celebrated at the EAST HAVEN MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 425 Main St., Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Dolores's name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 10202 (, the Wounded Warrior Project, or Guide Dogs for the Blind.
