Joseph G. Curcio Obituary
CURCIO, JOSEPH G. (NHPD Ret.) Joseph G. Curcio, Sr., 78, (retired NHPD) of New Haven, died on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Connecticut Hospice of Branford. He was the devoted husband of Raffaela "Rae" Vollono Curcio. Mr. Curcio was born in New Haven on September 4, 1933 to the late Joseph and Nancy Zito Curcio. Joe proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict for 4 years in the United States Navy. After the war, he would once again serve the citizens of New Haven as a Police Officer, where he worked for the next 25 years, until retiring in 1982. Following his employment by the city, he became the manager of the Emissions Testing Site in North Haven from 1992 to 1997. Finally he worked as a security guard for the Yale Law Library from 1997 until finally retiring in 2009. He is survived by three sons; Joseph G. (Roberta) Curcio of New Haven, Robert M. (Katherine) Curcio of Glastonbury and Mark A. (Robin) Curcio of North Haven. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Carbone. Funeral will leave the EAST HAVEN MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 425 Main St., Friday morning at 9:30 for a Funeral Mass at St. Vincent dePaul Church at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
