YOGA, JOSEPH J., JR. Joseph J. Yoga, Jr., passed away May 25, 2014, in Connecticut Hospice. He is the husband and best friend of Lillian Edwards Yoga. Joseph was born in New Haven, December 18, 1942, a son of the late Joseph J. Yoga, Sr., and Anna Chestnut Yoga. He was a firefighter for the town of Hamden for 15 years and a dispatcher for Cheshire Police Emergency for 22 years before retiring. Joe was a past Cheshire Band Parent, Cheshire Boys Baseball Coach and Girls Softball Coach, a Cheshire Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader and a Friend of Field Hockey Parent. Joseph was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Proud father of Joseph J. Yoga III of Ossining, NY and Karen and Sally Yoga of Cheshire. Brother of Cynthia Yoga (Frank) Nappi of South Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Buffy. Funeral from the LUPINSKI FUNERAL HOME, INC. 821 State Street Friday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Becket Church at 10:00. Burial in Centerville Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. I have fond memories of field trips to Mr. Yoga's Fire Station as a child.
He was always so kind and thoughtful, and I'm glad that I had the chance to know him and your family for all these years.
