Michael DeNicola Obituary

DeNicola, Dr. Michael Dr. Michael DeNicola, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at his home. He was the loving husband of Jeanne (Lattanzi) DeNicola. Dr. DeNicola was born on April 21, 1928 in New Haven, son of the late Michael and Josephine (Gambardella) DeNicola. He graduated from Hillhouse High School in New Haven, obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Tufts University and his Medical Degree from Yale School of Medicine. He served his Internship at Detroit Memorial Hospital and then spent two years of his medical residency in the U.S. Air Force. After finishing his Air Force tour, Mike finished his residency at Waterbury Hospital. He opened his private practice in Prospect where he practiced Internal Medicine for thirty years, retiring in 1993. After his retirement, he continued to practice in the Employee's Clinic at Waterbury Hospital for several years. After medical school, he married his beautiful wife, Jeanne and together they raised five children. He was devoted to his family and his four grandchildren were the light of his life. The Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 10:00am at St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Mike's name may be made to: National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
