Robert S. Hadley

1926 - 2017

Robert S. Hadley of Branford, died Sunday April 23, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Ann Harrison Hadley. Mr. Hadley was born in New Haven December 12, 1926, son of the late Sidney E. and Gertrude Trisch Hadley. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II. He was in the counter intelligence unit working in the Berlin occupation, where he interrogated German soldiers. He was a graduate of Yale University, Class of 1949. Bob was the regional sales manager for the March Manufacturing Corporation, retiring in 1997. He was devoted to his family, was an avid sailor, and also enjoyed playing tennis and golf. He especially enjoyed taking long walks and visiting with his Pawson Park neighbors. He was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Branford. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Alison (Will) Brierley and Robert H. (Natalie) Hadley, both of Branford, and Scott E. (Ann) Hadley of Glastonbury; his 93 year old sister Arlene Schwanfelder of Branford, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Tuesday May 2, 2017 at 11:00AM at the First Congregational Church of Branford. THERE ARE NO CALLING HOURS.
