To Mrs. Russo, Joe and the rest of the Russo family: So sorry to hear that one of the top ten nicest people I ever knew has fled our world...NO Doubt...for a better one. Too bad A man like Sam Russo had to be mortal. It was always a pleasure to visit Joe and his family at the "Gaylord Estate", since Mr. & Mrs. Russo were so genuinely welcoming. He will be missed by those closest to him, and never forgotten by anyone, like me, who had the privilege of knowing him. If there's a heaven, Sam's got to be there now. I'm sorry for your loss. My thougts and memories are with the family and all who knew him. My grandmother, Eleanor Gehrke worked at Gaylord for years and I have great memories from my childhood of her always bringing me in to say hello to Sam each time I visited. Sam always called me “Tiger”. 30 years later, I still remember his smile and gentle way.

I worked with Sam in the 1980's at Gaylord and I came to know him as a wonderful, wonderful person. He always had a kind word and a beautiful smile and he touched my heart in so many ways. I have wonderful memories of him talking about his family, whom he adored. Ironically, I went on a few years later to work with his daughter Gail and we would share stories about her Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
